In Summer 1997, two complete half-modules of the SVT detector were tested on a pion beam at CERN. Results are reported on the response of the detectors in presence of various kinds of defects. To perform this study in the BABAR reconstruction program, classes have been implemented to handle information about defective readout channels and strips and to make clusters in presence of strips with faults. As result of this analysis, we propose to disconnect from the amplifier the defective trips.
